Discover answers to your most pressing questions your vehicle’s air conditioning system and ArcticBlast.
Your ArcticBlast Questions Answered
What are the most common types of vehicle refrigerant?
- Refrigerant, known as R12, was the automotive refrigerant standard prior to 1994. Thought to be a contributing factor to the depleting ozone layer it was banned from all new cars sold in the US.
- R134a refrigerant makes the A/C system blow cold on hot days. Selected for its low flammability and safety, as well as because it’s kinder to the environment, almost every car built since 1994 is equipped with R134 refrigerant.
- In 2021 1234YF was chosen to replace R134a. This refrigerant performs similarly to R134a, but with one important difference: it breaks down much faster in the upper atmosphere. That means it’ll contribute less to global warming.
- ArcticBlast works with all 1234YF and R134A refrigerant systems
Will ArcticBlast void my factory warranty?
- The short Answer: No
- Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act: This federal law protects consumers by preventing manufacturers from voiding warranties simply because a non-OEM aftermarket parts or additives was used, it further states that they can deny warranty coverage if they can prove that the non-OEM part or additive caused the problem requiring repair.

How does ArcticBlast interact with the A/C System?
- ArcticBlast works with the vehicle’s already existing refrigerant to increase A/C System efficiency. By doing so, your vehicle’s interior will get colder, faster creating a more comfortable and enjoyable ownership experience. As well as increased fuel economy.
- ArcticBlast reduces the refrigerant’s heat without increasing pressure. This is totally against the “traditional” understanding of knowledgeable HVAC Technicians.
Is ArcticBlast CARS ACT compliant?
ArcticBlast is absolutely CARS Act compliant. The product is tangible and provides immediate benefits both in cooling temperature and in vehicle cabin comfort. Since vehicle A/C has the largest impact on fuel / battery usage on Gas, Diesel and Electric Vehicles (EV), one of the ArcticBlast key benefits is in fuel economy and increased “range before charge”.
What air conditioning parts does ArcticBlast come into contact with?
- ArcticBlast works with the vehicles refrigerant working its way through a cars air conditioning compressor which works by drawing in low-pressure refrigerant gas, compressing it to a high pressure, and then sending it to the condenser, where it releases heat and turns back into a liquid, effectively creating the cooling effect for the car’s air conditioning system; it is essentially a pump driven by the engine belt that circulates the refrigerant throughout the AC loop by increasing its pressure through compression.
- In a car, refrigerant works by circulating through a closed system, absorbing heat from the interior of the car as it turns from a liquid to a gas in the evaporator, then releasing that heat outside the car as it condenses back into a liquid, effectively cooling the air inside the car and repeating the cycle to maintain a cool temperature.
How does ArcticBlast interact with A/C recovery machines found in many dealerships today?
- All dealership service centers currently use the latest Refrigerant Recycling Systems that are designed to remove refrigerant safely, efficiently, and economically. Once the refrigerant has been reprocessed by separating oil, moisture, and air the refrigerant may be reused.
- ArcticBlast treated refrigerant that has been recovered with these systems has never been found to be classified as an impurity, allowing the reclaimed refrigerant to be returned to its most pure state. However, should a system with ArcticBlast need to be serviced and recovered, ArcticBlast will need to be reinstalled.
How often does ArcticBlast have to be re-installed?
ArcticBlast is a one-time-use product. However, should a system with ArcticBlast need to be serviced and recovered, ArcticBlast will need to be reinstalled.
Will ArcticBlast fix my broken A/C System?
NO. ArcticBlast only IMPROVES a properly working A/C System. ArcticBlast should only be installed in a system that has been verified and tested.
